How to setup the BPA Login with DrayTek Router
MAC spoof method
- Determine the MAC address of of the device currently connected to your cable modem. If it is a computer with 2 LAN cards which is sharing the internet connection, you will need the MAC address of the LAN card to which the cable modem is connected.
- From your PC, please "Disconnect" your Telstra Cable Login software.
- You should Exit from the Telstra Cable Login program; then uninstall it. Your DrayTek router will do the Telstra Cable Login function (also called BigPond Authentication, or BPA); and accidentally using the program on your computer could cause confusion.
- Connect your DrayTek Vigor 2100 or 2900 router to your PC's LAN port. Please do not connect the Cable modem to the WAN port now.
- Open your web browser and login to your router by entering it's IP Address (default is "http://192.168.1.1") into the browser's Address field as shown at the top of the screen image below.
A login dialog window will open asking for username and password. The factory default configuration has no password set, so just click the [OK] button; and the main menu will display as below:

- Go to Internet Access Setup; then Static or Dynamic IP.
- For the BPA setup, you should setup like the picture below. Enter your user name & password (Note: the username and password are the one you are using in your Telstra Cable Login). Note that
the login server is different in each state:

- Select Obtain an IP address automatically, and please do not put extra setting in here such as Router Name or Domain Name.
- Select "Specify a MAC Address, and enter the value you obtained in step 1. The page should look like
- When you click the [OK] button the router will need to reboot. Click [OK].

- Now, you can connect the cable modem to the 2900’s WAN port, and you should be able to go on to the Internet.
